I am a Mechanical 3D CAD Design Engineer. Most recently working with AutoCAD for MMA Consultants Ireland on Intel 3D BCCB project. Also Solidworks with BAE Systems on governmental British Nuclear Submarine contract. I possess a keen eye for detail within all aspects of the design process. Usually working within small design teams. Overseeing the whole design process from concepts and prototyping through to proven and successful production. I have worked for several large companies whose design ethos has always been to drive down manufacturing costs but maintain pragmatic solutions.

Responsible designer of submarine mooring and berthing components.
Working with engineers to create 3D solid models to design key submarine hull components using Solidworks.
3D Design and full drawing packages to BS8888, of all retractable mooring bollards on the submarine casing. This design incorporated a framework of a cluster of riser tube housings. Riser tube bollards using lead screws to achieve the retractability function.
3D Design and full drawing package of critical emergency anchor slip mechanism. This system was functional using rod gearing and release pin and housing mechanism.
Compilation of 2D working drawing packages, including component parts design, assembly, full parts list and installation to hull.
Excellent working knowledge of Foran CAD shipbuilding software to examine design intent.
Managed Teamcenter for the control of functional product and spatial maturity of the design. Also for the compilation of all necessary design information and controlled file sharing of: Drawings, Compilation of BOMs and Processed through SAP.
Spatial integration of components to Submarine overall design model. This was a conversion from Solidwork 3D files back to a format that could be spatially integrated into overall submarine 3D model.
