- Implemented a surface mechanical grinding treatment (SMGT) using a milling machine on High Entropy Alloys (HEAs) to create a gradient grain structure, enhancing mechanical properties
- Cut processed HEA samples into Dog-Bone specimens for tensile testing using a water-jet machine
- Used MATLAB and Atomsk to create atom-scale gradient nano-grain and uniform grain sized HEA samples for Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulation
- Simulated tensile tests of gradient nano-grain and uniform grain sized HEA samples at various gradient rates and grain sizes through MD simulation using LAMMPS
- Completed a detailed engineering report, outlining simulation inputs and SMGT parameters to ensure repeatability and concluded that larger grain sizes have superior mechanical properties in samples around the 10-7 m size range
