About
I'm an industrial designer with a strong background in manufacturing, prototyping, and design for production. I work hands-on from early sketches through to final execution — with a focus on real-world usability, material efficiency, and clean, functional design.
My portfolio includes a mix of commercial products and exploratory work — from Nimuno Loops, a LEGO-compatible adhesive tape that reached a global audience through our Viral Indigogo campaign, to Lumkani, a fire detection system for informal settlements, designed with social impact at its core.
I’ve also developed a number of ride-on toys and mobility concepts, which combine my interest and skillsets in mechanics, ergonomics, and playful design. These projects allowed me to explore scale, safety, and movement in new ways — while still working within production, safety, and ergonomic constraints.
A strong understanding of intellectual property, including experience with patents, design registrations, and protecting original concepts through to market.
I'm proficient in CAD, material selection, and design-for-manufacture, and I enjoy navigating the space between technical problem-solving creative exploration and ensure reaching the goals of the business I work with.
I hold a degree in Industrial Design and approach each project with curiosity, clarity, and a focus on bringing useful ideas to life.

Experience
- Senior Industrial Designer CCDS · Full-time Jul 2013 – Sep 2019 6 yrs 2 mos Cape Town, WC, South Africa Working at CCDS was exactly the kind of experience I was looking for after graduating from university. The studio focuses on developing products with strong intellectual property across a range of fields — from ride-on toys to coffee grinders and farming equipment — whether for their own brands or for licensing to companies with established market presence. I worked directly with their manufacturers and retail partners, which gave me a solid understanding of production processes and commercial requirements. It also taught me how to optimise designs to meet target retail price points while protecting key IP and maintaining clear unique selling points.
