Jay Kuo is a Broadway playwright, composer, and a two-time Tony Award-winning producer. Before his career in theater, he worked as an appellate litigator, though friends and family still often ask him for free legal advice. Jay is also the founder and CEO of a digital publishing and social media company that helped grow actor and activist George Takei’s online following to tens of millions. He serves on the board of the Human Rights Campaign, the largest civil rights organization for the LGBTQ+ community in the U.S., which his mother once jokingly called the group for “trendy” people.
