I have used many machines such as CNC millers, CNC lathes and EDM wiring machines on a daily basis to repair and improve press tooling for transfer, progression, blanking and hydraulic tooling whilst also providing support to the manufacturing lines by machining and fabricating bespoke components to save the costs of outsourcing.

    I have completed a level 4 HNC apprenticeship with this business and have progressed on to complete a bachelors degree to proceed with continuous development.

    I have professional experience with multiple 2D and 3D design software along with FEA analysis and 3D machining packages having worked closely with the design department unpaid for experience.

    Not only do I have experience in machining and die maintenance but in tooling design and manufacture as we developed some projects from scratch.

  • Teesside University Mechanical Engineering, Eng. Mechanical, 1st Class 2020 – 2024 During this degree I have learnt many theoretical modules such as engineering mathematics, continuum mechanics. Although those more applicable to my role as a freelance designer include both group project and dissertation project which shows my ability to work efficiently alone and in a team to meet objectives within a required timeframe to achieve an overall goal.
    Most notably I have worked towards skills in design using the Siemens NX package, we studied how the software works inside and out in both design and analysis exploring FEA and simulation. During design we were tasked to develop a working single piston engine and prove its ability to work by simulation and in the final year FEA was used to study the stress concentration within a steel plate with a v notch demonstrating the effect of discontinuities within a component and how to modify design within its specification to achieve a required factor of safety.
