About
I'm a certified CAD designer who enjoys mostly working with the 3D mechanical discipline, and I enjoy designing new things.
For a short time while working on my CAD certification, my instructor picked me as one of four potential candidates to intern at a private engineering firm called Power Engineers in the Kansas City area. I was one of the 4 which they selected out of the rest of the class. The process was very enlightening as to what to expect working for a company doing CAD work. Once the internship came to a close, they pretty much offered me a job to work there permanently, although sadly I had to decline due to the long distance I would have to travel each day.
I also wanted the freedom to be able to work on a wider variety of parts and products while doing CAD work, and not be stuck doing one thing only, like electrical schematics.
While I haven't had a whole lot of on the job experience doing CAD work, I still have a passion for the design aspect and have kept up on practicing designs at home with my own projects. My software of choice (and what I am most familiar with) is Fusion 360. I am familiar, and have worked with other CAD software in the past such as Autocad, Microstation, and Autodesk Inventor.
I also have experience working with consumer grade 3D printers.
