In 1997 I took my first board drafting class at a local Joint Vocational School in Delaware Ohio. The following year I was introduced to Auto CAD Release 12 which utilized the digitizer pad to create drawings and designs. After graduating High school in 1998 I went on to Collage at T.E.C. in Columbus, Ohio for an 18 month Associate's degree program in Architectural Engineering.
Shortly after school started in 1998 my internship at Gulliver and Associates began, there I was introduced to the various disciplines of Engineering/Architecture that were involved in commercial & light commercial design projects. I remained there as a CAD drafter for the next year until I graduated school and moved to a different part of the city.
After bouncing around through different CAD/Design positions over the course of the next year trying to figure out what field was a right fit for me, I ended up at American Electric Power corporate offices downtown Columbus in 2000.
I started my career there in the Geo-Tech Engineering Division as a drafter creating site surveys, Boring logs, transmission line layouts, road way development and creating annual land fill sequences for their power plants in the mid-west. Aproximately 18 months into my career at A.E.P. I caught a break to get back into structural steel design with their Pro Serve division, where I worked on the S.C.R. (Selective Catalytic Reduction) project until the end of 2004 when I was eventually laid off due to economical factors and political factors here in the U.S at the time.
I chose to join the Marine Corps. in March of 2005. I spent the next 8 years in the infantry as an Assault man specializing in explosives engineering and breaching techniques. Following two combat tours to Felujah Iraq, I chose to re-enlist and go to Division Schools to be an Instructor for my remaining time in the Corps.
In 2010 I volunteered for my third tour, this time to Afghanistan as an Infantry tactics mentor for their Border Police force. Shortly after my return to the States in late 2011 I was put on a medical board and eventually retired from the Marines in March of 2013.
I went to work for REIG which is a real estate investment group based out of San Marcos CA. January 2014 in the residential division. There I was set up with a second internship with the Architect whom they were working with to bring me back up to speed on Auto CAD 2010, get familiar with California building codes and the CA permit process. I went on to become a project coordinator and Sr. Architectural designer by the end of my time with REIG in late 2018 when I moved to Florida.
I currently still do work for some clients back in the San Diego area as well as several new clients through out the US.
