"Summer, 1961, my yellow Chevrolet Corvair took me from deep East Texas to Northern California where I studied pottery with Marguerite Wildenhain, a world-famous artist trained at the Bauhaus in Germany before WWII. I never looked back. Upon leaving Pond Farm, Marguerite said, “You have a lot of talent and ability, but it seems your focus is mostly on girls and cars!” Nonetheless, her tutelage enabled me to receive a MFA from the University of Iowa, which, I believe, was the beginning of the deepest desire to never stop creating and to never stop learning. I have journeyed through the academic world, the incredible creative period of the 60’s and 70’s where Art in the Western world was recreated, through the business world which included a 10 year stay in China, and the beginning of the digital age.
