During my masters, I had a module based on CAD modelling using Solid Works, where I had successfully submitted a CAD model of an spur gear. Also, had carried out stress analysis on the modelled part. This module has given me an overall proficiency of SolidWorks and capability to work on any task individually. At the same time, I have hands on experience with Matlab. I have successfully presented many Matlab simulated programs using various programming algorithms. For my masters project which was based on ‘Co-deposition of nickel-SiC using Pulse reverse plating techniques to produce nano composites’. After course completion, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant in the department of engineering. Having completed three years at university and a 15 month industry placement, I have developed strong CAD skills, specifically using SolidWorks. During my degree I modelled multiple parts which include: an aerospace landing mechanism, a turboprop propeller with gears and casing, and a Cessna 172 wing with various wing tip designs. Whilst on my 15 month industry placement, working for a precision engineering company, I would use SolidWorks on a daily basis in order to create a 3D model from an engineering drawing. Modifications would often be needed to the model in order for the part to be machinable on the CNC machines.
