During my degree I modelled multiple parts which include: an aerospace landing mechanism, a turboprop propeller with gears and casing, and a Cessna 172 wing with various wing tip designs. Whilst on my 15 month industry placement, working for a precision engineering company, I would use SolidWorks on a daily basis in order to create a 3D model from an engineering drawing. Modifications would often be needed to the model in order for the part to be machinable on the CNC machines.
