About the job
Looking for an experienced **Plastic Product Design / Injection Molding Engineer** to design a plastic fork/bracket (caster housing) for a premium medical caster wheel. The overall caster design, wheel, and other components are already defined; the primary requirement is to engineer a practical, durable, aesthetically refined, and production-feasible plastic fork/bracket.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in **plastic part design, injection molding, plastic tooling, mold design, and DFM (Design for Manufacturing)**. You should understand how to design structural, load-bearing plastic components for real-world production—not just create visually appealing 3D models.
Experience designing components in **PP, Nylon, or similar engineering plastics** is essential. Strong knowledge of **material selection, wall thickness optimization, draft angles, ribs, gussets, fillets, bosses, sink mark prevention, warpage control, shrinkage, parting lines, undercuts, and other injection molding constraints** is highly preferred.
The design must account for **structural strength, load-bearing requirements, durability, manufacturability, assembly with existing caster components, and suitability for medium- to high-volume injection molding production**. The successful candidate should also be able to identify potential tooling or manufacturing challenges early and recommend practical design solutions.
Proficiency in **SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, Siemens NX, or sim...

Experience with **structural plastic components, industrial products, automotive components, medical equipment, wheels/casters, or other mechanically demanding injection-molded products** would be highly desirable.
Please apply only if you have relevant experience designing **production-ready injection-molded plastic components**. When applying, please share examples of similar work, particularly structural or load-bearing plastic parts that were designed for actual manufacturing.
**Key skills:** Plastic Product Design, Injection Molding, Plastic Tooling, Mold Design, DFM, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Plastic Design, 3D CAD, SolidWorks/Creo/CATIA/NX, Product Development, and Design for Manufacturing.
