About the job
Hello,
My name is Paul Semple, director of AMAPS Pty Ltd (Illovo Beach, KwaZulu-Natal). We're developing a simplified TV remote control for elderly users and people with memory difficulties — patent pending (CIPC Ref 1592154).
I'm reaching out to ask whether your team is able to assist with 3D CAD design work, not just mould manufacture — specifically:
We already have:
A working PCB (Gerber files, dimensions 127.89 x 39.62mm)
A physical casing sample with the correct external button layout, which we want to keep unchanged
A rechargeable battery specification (GEB104050, 2500mAh LiPo, approx. 10 x 40 x 50mm, JST PHR2.0 connector)
What we need designed:
A new bottom half of the casing (or a small clip-in insert replacing the battery cover) to house the PCB, battery, and USB-C charging port — while keeping the existing top half/keypad exactly as-is
A deliverable STL or STEP file suitable for mould production
Could you please confirm:
Do you offer 3D CAD design services for this kind of enclosure, or only manufacture from files already supplied?
If you do design work, what information would you need from us to quote (e.g. the physical sample, PCB files, battery spec)?
Would you also be able to produce a prototype mould locally once the design is finalised?
Approximate cost and timeline for design plus a first prototype mould/casing.
I'm based in KwaZulu-Natal and happy to send the physical sample directly, or meet in person if useful.
Looking forward to hearing fr...
