We are seeking an expert SolidWorks Mechanical Engineer to design and model a high-precision, 3-part tactile mechanical device plus a standalone loading accessory from scratch.
Note on Specifications & Inputs:
Pre-Engineered for MJF Nylon 12: All clearance offsets, thread relief channels, shrinkage allowances, and wall thicknesses are already fully engineered specifically for raw Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) PA12 3D printing inside our blueprint. You do not need to calculate or guess DFM clearances.
CAD Execution: We do not have usable existing native CAD files or hand sketches. You will be responsible for creating all fully constrained 2D sketches, 3D feature geometry, and parametric relations directly within SolidWorks, using our fully dimensioned Master Engineering Specification document (PDF provided upon hire under NDA) as your strict blueprint.
Key Responsibilities & Scope
Fully Constrained 2D Sketches & Parametric Setup:
Build all initial 2D layout sketches from scratch in SolidWorks, ensuring 100% fully constrained sketch geometry (zero under-defined entities).
Drive baseline dimensions (bore sizes, thread profiles, distance-across-flats, wall thicknesses) using named Global Variables and Equations.
Ensure the primary vertical center axis sits directly on the global origin centroid (0,0,0) in every sketch.

Part 003 (Bottom Base Cap): Quick-release 3-tab bayonet mount with asymmetric haptic detent profiles, alignment spigot, debossed static typography, smooth laser serialization zone, and tactile chevron texture.
Part 005 / Accessory (Standalone Loading Funnel): Contour-matched 12-sided loading funnel mouth tapering to a protective guide stem with smooth internal entry transition radii.
Strict Manufacturing & DFM Standards
Mandatory MJF PA12 Experience: Applicants MUST have proven, real-world DFM experience working with production hardware for raw Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) Nylon 12. You must understand powder-bed clearance tuning (0.15 mm–0.25 mm radial gaps), post-print bead blasting, and powder evacuation dynamics.
100% Native Parametric CAD: Clean, logical FeatureManager trees built from scratch. No imported STEP/IGS bodies or feature-recognized geometry.
Commercial Licensing: Active commercial SolidWorks license required (no Student/Educational version watermark files accepted).
Required Deliverables
Fully Parametric SolidWorks Master Assembly (.SLDASM) & Parts (.SLDPRT): Clean feature trees with 100% fully defined 2D sketches, un-suppressed features, and zero rebuild errors.
SolidWorks Pack and Go Package (.ZIP): Complete, self-contained zip folder with linked native parts, master assembly, and equation tables.
2D Production Drawings (.SLDDRW / PDF): Fully dimensioned 2D engineering drawings for each part generated directly from your native SolidWorks models.
Interference Detection Report: SolidWorks Interference Detection report proving 0.00 mm collision across moving parts throughout full stroke.
Neutral Manufacturing Files: Exported production .STEP and .STL files for each component.
Full Master Engineering Specification Matrix provided immediately upon contract start. Signed NDA required.
