TASK: Reverse engineering / 3D refinement of two interior trim parts
SOURCE: Raw 3D scans (.stl/.ply) of two parts:
1. A-Pillar Interior Finisher
2. T-Top Side Finisher
SCOPE OF WORK:
1. MESH CLEANUP & RETOPOLOGY
- Remove scanner noise, artifacts, stray points
- Decimate to reasonable poly count without losing form
2. GEOMETRY RECONSTRUCTION
- Restore sharp edges and clean part boundaries
- Flatten surfaces that should be flat/planar
- Reconstruct blurred/damaged areas
3. MOUNTING FEATURE RESTORATION (critical)
- Restore all mounting clips/tabs
- Restore screw holes and fastener locations
- Clips must be functional and dimensionally accurate
- Reference OEM specs for clip dimensions if needed
5. PRINT PREPARATION
- Wall thickness suitable for printing (min 2-2.5mm)
- No self-intersections or degenerate faces
- Proper orientation, split into parts if needed
DELIVERABLES:
- Clean print-ready .stl files for both parts
- Also .step / .obj preferred for future edits
- Reasonable file size
CRITICAL:
- Preserve exact original dimensions (parts must fit on the car)
- Special attention to clips - installation depends on them
- Send WIP for review before finalizing
