About the job
need a mechanical CAD designer (Fusion 360 or SolidWorks) to create production-ready drawings for a wooden 45° sled leg press.
The Problem to Solve:
Existing prototype on Koh Phangan, Thailand has a footplate angle issue — only the ball of the foot makes contact. Full flat-foot placement requires increased downward angle. I need you to design a redesigned footplate carriage testing angles of 5°, 10°, and 15° to determine optimal.
Full Scope:
3D CAD model of complete leg press (Fusion 360 or SolidWorks native format)
2D manufacturing drawings with tolerances (especially parallel rails: ±1mm)
Exploded view with BOM (including steel bushings, epoxied bars, hardware)
Recommendation on optimal footplate angle based on mechanical constraints
Key Specs (from build manual):
45° sliding rails, 165cm length, 80cm center-to-center
120cm footplate travel distance
Hardwood + steel bushing hybrid construction
Adjustable hand grip/plate rack system on sliding beams (needs design)
Safety stop blocks mandatory
Deliverables:
Native CAD files (Fusion 360 or SolidWorks)
STEP files for manufacturing
2D PDF drawings with tolerances
Exploded view
BOM
Ideal Candidate:
Experience with fitness equipment OR wooden machinery/furniture with mechanical components
Understanding of DFM (design for manufacturing)
Thailand-based is a bonus (but not required)
To apply: Share one example of mechanical or furniture CAD work + your rate estimat...
