About the job
I am developing a confidential consumer product for content creators and am looking for an experienced mechanical/product design engineer with robotics or mechatronics experience.
The product is a portable motorized camera-support system intended to work with smartphones, compact DJI cameras, and selected mirrorless cameras. The system will incorporate motorized movement, camera stabilization, subject tracking, adjustable height, integrated lighting, and safety/stability features.
The most important engineering challenge is achieving extremely smooth, stable movement while safely supporting different camera payloads. I need an engineer who can evaluate center of gravity, payload capacity, tipping risk, motorized movement, vibration, stabilization, and overall mechanical feasibility.
Experience with robotics, motorized mechanisms, gimbals/camera stabilization, SolidWorks or Fusion 360, prototyping, and design for manufacturing is strongly preferred.
For the first phase, I am looking for:
• Engineering feasibility review
• Preliminary mechanical architecture
• Stability and payload evaluation
• Recommendations for motors, wheels, sensors, batteries, and other prototype components
• Preliminary CAD once the mechanical concept is validated
If the first phase is successful, I would like to continue with the same engineer through functional prototyping and eventually manufacturing-ready CAD.
This is a confidential product concept. Additional design details, c...

This is a confidential product concept. Additional design details, concept images, and feature requirements will be provided privately after confidentiality and intellectual-property ownership terms are confirmed.
Please include examples of previous robotics, mechatronics, motorized consumer products, camera equipment, or similar products you have engineered.
