About the job
We are seeking an experienced industrial automation / machine design expert to develop a fully autonomous packaging system for printed label rolls using robotic arms. The current manual process involves handling bulk-printed rolls, inserting a center cone into each roll, placing square wooden side supports/panels, and applying strapping bands to secure the rolls for storage or shipment.
The goal is to create a practical, buildable, production-ready solution that completes the full sequence within a fixed cycle time with minimal human intervention. The downstream process after label printing is still open, so we welcome creative concepts for roll transfer, positioning, robotic pick-and-place, cone insertion, wooden side panel placement, strapping, and pallet-ready output.
Scope includes concept development, machine architecture, CAD design, mechanical design, robotic end-effector/tooling design, automation logic, component selection, and implementation feasibility. Strong experience in robotic arm integration, packaging machinery, roll handling, strapping systems, and industrial automation is required.
