About the job
We are a third-generation, family-owned fabrication shop (est. 1977) seeking an experienced SOLIDWORKS professional to provide ongoing, 1-on-1, project-based training.
Our focus is practical application—not theory. We design and build custom industrial equipment, including chutes, hoppers, and conveyors, and are transitioning from manual drafting to a fully integrated 3D CAD workflow.
The primary objective is to help an experienced “old school” drafter translate proven design logic into efficient SOLIDWORKS 2026 workflows.
Scope of Work:
• Weldments & Structural Design
Guide us in building frames using 3D sketches, proper member placement, and clean corner treatments (miters, trims, end conditions).
• Sheet Metal Development
Assist in modeling complex hopper and chute geometries that produce accurate flat patterns, bend allowances, and manufacturable outputs.
• Production-Ready Outputs
Set up and refine cut lists, weldment profiles, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) so our shop can move directly from model to fabrication.
• Live Project Training
Work with us via screen share on active, real-world jobs. We are not interested in generic tutorials—training must be applied to current projects.
This is a hands-on collaboration focused on building repeatable systems we can use across future work.
