About the job
I’m implementing a digital way-finding system for a shopping mall and need a CAD specialist who is already comfortable working inside the Mappedin or any another CAD platform. The job is to convert our existing floor plans into a clean, lightweight CAD layout that Mappedin can ingest.
Scope
• Start with the current architectural drawings (DWG/PDF) I’ll supply.
• Strip them down to a basic layout focused on main paths, corridors, entrances, elevators and escalators—no individual store interiors or 3-D elements are required at this stage.
• Optimise line weights, naming conventions and layer structure to match Mappedin import guidelines so the file comes in error-free.
Way-finding features to enable
• Search functionality
• Turn-by-turn instructions
• Accessibility options (step-free routing, wider path definitions, etc.)
Deliverables
1. Clean CAD file (DWG or DXF) optimised for Mappedin import.
2. A quick screen-share walkthrough showing that the file loads correctly in the Mappedin editor with paths properly connected.
3. Short hand-off document outlining layers used, naming logic and any assumptions made.
Acceptance
I’ll consider the task complete once I can open the file in Mappedin, run a sample search, see the accessible route highlighted and generate turn-by-turn steps with no broken segments.
If you’ve done similar mall or large-format retail projects, please mention the toolchain you used and how you handled accessibility paths. A fast, tidy t...
