About the job
Project Description:
I am looking for a COMSOL expert (chemical engineer / physicist) to simulate evaporation of liquid inside a vertical capillary tube using COMSOL Multiphysics (latest version preferred).
Model Requirements:
2D transient model
Geometry: Rectangle (0.025 mm width × 0.1 mm height)
Vertical capillary tube
Initially fully filled with water
Room temperature conditions
Evaporation driven by mass transfer (NOT temperature gradient)
Outlet atmospheric humidity ≈ 50%
Contact angle must form naturally (not fixed manually)
Physics Expectations:
Proper two-phase flow modeling (Level Set or Phase Field preferred)
Surface tension effects included
Transient moving interface (meniscus evolution)
Realistic mass transfer modeling for evaporation
Simplified or quasi-static approaches will not be accepted.
Expected Deliverables:
1) Animation showing dynamic meniscus evolution
- Time displayed
- Volume fraction of liquid shown during animation
2) Plot: Time vs liquid volume fraction
3)CSV files:
- Liquid volume vs time
- Evaporated mass vs time
4) Screen recording of full COMSOL simulation process
- Explanation document:
- Physics used
- Parameters selected
- Reasoning behind modeling choices
Part 2 Extension:
Repeat the simulation replacing water with SDS solution at:
- 0.1 wt%
- 0.3 wt%
Including comparison of results.
Please only apply if you have strong experience in:
COMSOL Multiphysics
Multiphase flow
Mass transfer...
