Project Description
We are seeking an experienced CAD Engineer or Drafter to create detailed technical drawings for custom fabrication, shop assembly, and on-site setup/installation of experiential marketing displays and environments. This is a freelance/project-based role with potential for ongoing work on multiple projects. Projects range from trade show exhibits and branded activations to large-scale scenic elements, interactive installations, and architectural signage.
Ideal candidates will translate conceptual designs into precise, fabrication-ready drawings that support our in-house manufacturing team (metalwork, woodworking, CNC, 3D printing, etc.) and field installation crews.
Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed 2D shop drawings, assembly drawings, elevation/plan views, and fabrication packages using AutoCAD Inventor.
Create 3D models, renderings, and complex surface geometry (as needed) using Autocad or Rhino for organic or curved forms common in experiential builds.
Produce installation/setup drawings, rigging details, structural notes, and bill of materials (BOM).
Collaborate remotely (or in-person if local) with our design and project management teams to refine drawings based on feedback.
Ensure drawings comply with fabrication tolerances, material specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
Revise drawings as projects evolve through prototyping and production phases.

Required Skills & Experience

Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential) for 2D drafting or Rhino for 3D modeling.
3+ years of experience creating fabrication/shop drawings in custom manufacturing, exhibit design, scenic fabrication, trade show booths, architectural millwork, or related fields.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (metal fabrication, woodworking, CNC routing, welding, plastics, etc.).
Ability to produce clear, annotated, dimensioned drawings that fabricators and installers can follow without ambiguity.
Experience with bill of materials, tolerances, and structural considerations.
Portfolio demonstrating relevant fabrication drawings (please include links or samples with your proposal).

Preferred Qualifications

Local to Las Vegas or Henderson, NV area (strongly preferred for occasional in-person collaboration, site visits, or shop reviews).
Additional experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or Revit is a plus.
Background in experiential marketing, event production, or entertainment scenic design.
Knowledge of rigging, lighting integration, or interactive elements. read less
