About the job
FEA of Mild Steel Pipe Assembly (Swinging and Static Load Analysis – Phase 1)
We are looking for an experienced FEA engineer to perform structural analysis on a simple pipe assembly made of mild steel (yield ≈ 250 MPa).
Assembly Details :
1. Handle Pipe (Hollow)
- Outer Diameter: 40 mm
- Length: 1000 mm
2. Weight Plates
- Total mass: ~20 kg
- Clamped directly to the end of the handle pipe
- Mounted using two cylindrical pins (one at the
top and one at the bottom)
- Approximate stack height: 120 mm
Analysis Requirements – Phase 1
1. Evaluate stresses and deflections under:
- Self-weight
- Swinging conditions at 1 RPM, considering
centrifugal forces of 20 kg at a 0.9 m radius
- Force due to sudden stop during swings, treated
as the resultant of the momentum of the weight
plate (a sudden-stop load, not an impact)
2. Use bonded contacts and bolt/pin connectors
(simplified setup acceptable)
Deliverables
1. Minimum required wall thickness of the handle
pipe
2. Minimum required pin and hole diameters
3. Stress and deflection plots, including safety
factors
4. Consideration of forces due to sudden stop
during swings
5. Final PDF report and editable FEA source file
When Applying, Please Include
1. Estimated cost and lead time for Phase 1
2. Example screenshots or reports from similar FEA
projects
3. The software you’ll use (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks
S...

confirmation that it supports bolt/pin connectors
4. Number of revisions included
5. Confirmation that you will provide:
Editable FEA source file
Final PDF report
Additional Notes
We have additional FEA requirements in the pipeline and are willing to pay fairly for quality work, so long-term collaboration is possible.
