Project Summary
I have an existing physical product that I need professionally copied into a precise set of CAD files. The goal is to create a complete technical package that I can send directly to CNC machine shops to get accurate manufacturing quotes.
This is a focused project that should be straightforward for a designer with experience in mechanical design and creating production-ready files.
Scope of Work & Key Deliverables
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Creating a precise 3D CAD model based on the pictures and measurements provided.
2. Producing a 2D technical drawing with all necessary dimensions, tolerances, and notes for manufacturing.
Final deliverables must include:
• A 3D Model in .STEP format. This is the primary file for CNC programming.
• A 2D Technical Drawing in .PDF format, which must include:
o All critical dimensions and necessary tolerances.
o Material specification (I will provide this).
o Required surface finish callouts.
o Any other notes essential for a machine shop to produce the part correctly.
What I Will Provide
• I provide photos and measurements of the existing product.
• The name of the material the part is made from (e.g., 6061 Aluminum, 304 Stainless Steel, Delrin, etc.).
• Any specific details about critical features or tolerances that I am aware of.
