I’m in search for a 3D designer/CAD enthusiast or mechanical engineer with similar expertise who’d be interested in helping me build a custom prosthetic for my dog, Pingu. He’s a 10 year old 8 kg amputee with a healthy front leg and a healed stump. He’s doing well, but the strain of being a tripod and age is catching up. I want to get him a properly fitted prosthetic to protect his other leg from overuse arthritis.
What I have:
Full stump measurements + photos.
Access to a 3D printer through a friend.
Willing to do casting/molding if needed for better fit.
Access to ideal printing materials.
What I need:
Someone to help design a comfortable, functional socket that won’t chafe his stump.
Advice on joint options (fixed vs. flexible).
Further guidance on materials that are durable.
Ideally a printable design file I can test-fit and tweak if needed.
I am based in Nairobi, Kenya.
I’ll share scans, videos, and any extra info you need.
