Civil CAD designer needed for part-time work.

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented part-time/temporary Civil Designer (with the potential to transition to full-time) with strong expertise in Civil3D to join our team. The candidate will play a key role in the design development of various civil engineering projects, primarily involving dams, levees, flood control structures, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control (E&SC), and stream restoration. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 15 years of CAD-related experience, be self-motivated and creative, and be able to work remotely successfully. The successful individual will support our growing dam, levee, flood control practice, and other civil projects. You will work collaboratively with a talented team of recognized technical experts and leaders in water resources engineering.

Responsibilities & Duties:
• Create detailed civil engineering designs and drawings using Autodesk Civil3D;
• Prepare construction plans, profiles, cross-sections, and grading designs;
• Assist in developing project plans, reports, and specifications;
• Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to ensure design accuracy;
• Perform quantity take-offs and prepare cost estimates;
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal design standards and regulations;
• Communicate and collaborate with the project team and clients.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil3D and other CAD software;
• 5+ years of experience in civil design or drafting;
• Strong understanding of grading, drainage, roadways, and utility design;
• Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and permitting processes;
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in civil drafting or a related field;
• Proficiency in using GIS and other mapping tools;
• Experience providing Civil3D CAD support for projects involving dams, levees, stormwater management, flood protection structures, E&S control plans, and/or stream restoration. read less
