Job Description: Technical AutoCAD Draftsman – Commercial Window Profiles
We are looking for an experienced AutoCAD Draftsman to create accurate, production-ready 2D shop drawings for a custom commercial aluminum window system. You will translate our core project specifications into detailed drawings for manufacturing and assembly—specifically focusing on the jambs, mullions, sills, and headers.
Whether you think in precision tolerances or functional real-world assembly, we need clear drawings that ensure our extrusions fit perfectly on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
Profile & Frame Detailing: Draft full cross-sections, plan views, and assembly elevations for key window framing profiles: jamb, mullion, sill, and header.
Thermal & Glazing Integration: Incorporate exact dimensions for thermal breaks (poured-and-debridged or polyamide strips) and glazing pockets designed for 25 mm (1") to 35 mm (1-3/8") Insulated Glass Units (IGUs).
Fabrication Precision: Show accurate pocket depths, snap-on glazing beads, gasket retention channels, weep holes for water drainage, and assembly fastener locations for 114 mm × 45 mm (4.5" × 1.75") aluminum extrusions.
Production & Review Packages: Prepare clean, well-organized .DWG source files and clear PDF submittal sets ready for die-making, extrusion, and shop fabrication.
