Job Description: Technical AutoCAD Draftsman – Commercial Window ProfilesOverviewWe are hiring a Technical AutoCAD Draftsman to create accurate, production-ready 2D shop drawings for a custom commercial aluminum window system. You will translate our design parameters into clean, fabrication-ready CAD files for jambs, mullions, sills, and headers.Key ResponsibilitiesFrame & Section Detailing: Draft cross-sections, plan views, and elevations for jamb, mullion, sill, and header profiles.Thermal & Glazing Integration: Incorporate dimensions for thermal breaks (poured-and-debridged or polyamide strips) and glazing pockets for $25\text{ mm}$ ($1\text{"}$) to $35\text{ mm}$ ($1\text{-}3/8\text{"}$) IGUs.Fabrication Specs: Detail pocket depths, snap-on glazing beads, gasket channels, weep holes, and assembly fasteners for $114\text{ mm} \times 45\text{ mm}$ ($4.5\text{"} \times 1.75\text{"}$) aluminum extrusions.Production Packages: Prepare organized .DWG source files and PDF submittals for die-making and shop fabrication.RequirementsStrong proficiency in 2D AutoCAD with experience in commercial aluminum storefronts, curtain walls, or extrusion profiles.Practical understanding of window assembly, corner joinery, EPDM weatherstripping, thermal performance, and manufacturing tolerances.Engagement: Contract / Project-Based FreelanceDeliverables: Dimensioned profile die drawings, assembly sections, .DWG source files, and print-ready PDFs. read less
