JEWELLERY DESIGN BRIEF
Rajasthan Reimagined- Contemporary Heritage Jewellery
1. Brand Vision
We are developing a premium jewellery brand that takes inspiration from the rich heritage of Rajasthan and transforms it into modern, sophisticated jewellery for today’s woman.
The objective is not to recreate traditional Rajasthani jewellery.
Instead, we want to reinterpret heritage elements through contemporary shapes, proportions, colours and styling.
The jewellery should feel like:
Heritage, but not traditional.
Royal, but not heavy.
Indian, but globally wearable.
Statement-making, but sophisticated.
2. Design Philosophy
The collection should capture the spirit of Rajasthan while being relevant to modern fashion.
Think:
Rajasthan × Modern Luxury × Contemporary Fashion
Designs should work with:
* Sarees
* Kurtas
* Dresses
* Shirts
* Blazers
* Indo-western outfits
* Everyday elevated looks
* Evening/occasion wear
The jewellery should make the wearer feel confident, graceful, feminine and powerful.
3. Inspiration
Design inspiration can be drawn from:
* Rajasthani jharokhas
* Palace architecture
* Arches and domes
* Haveli details
* Traditional Rajasthani motifs
* Royal jewellery
* Rajasthani textiles and patterns
* Jaali work
* Traditional gemstones
* Desert landscapes
* Rajasthan’s rich colour palette
* Royal insignia and ornamental details
Important: These references should be abstracted and transformed into...

* Traditional Rajasthani motifs
* Royal jewellery
* Rajasthani textiles and patterns
* Jaali work
* Traditional gemstones
* Desert landscapes
* Rajasthan’s rich colour palette
* Royal insignia and ornamental details
Important: These references should be abstracted and transformed into contemporary design language rather than copied literally.
4. Desired Aesthetic
We are looking for designs that are:
Contemporary
Elegant
Premium
Feminine
Royal
Distinctive
Wearable
Fashion-forward
Avoid designs that look:
* Overly bridal
* Heavy or excessively ornate
* Like direct replicas of traditional Rajasthani jewellery
* Costume-like
* Generic Indian imitation jewellery
The goal is for someone to see the jewellery and think:
“It has an Indian heritage influence, but I’ve never seen it designed quite like this.”
5. Materials & Finishes
The collection may explore:
* Gold finishes
* Silver finishes
* Gold + silver combinations
* Semi-precious stones
* Coloured stones
* Pearls where appropriate
* Enamel/coloured elements where suitable
The final material selection will depend on manufacturing feasibility and target pricing.
6. Initial Collection
For the first design exploration, we are looking for approximately 8–12 original concepts.
Potential categories:
* Earrings
* Necklaces
* Pendants
* Rings
* Bracelets
* Bangles
* Statement pieces
The collection should feel cohesive, as though all pieces belong to the same brand.
We are particularly interested in developing a recognizable design language that can eventually become associated with the brand.
7. Design Development Process
The selected designer will ideally be able to support the process from:
Inspiration → Concept → Sketch → Refined Design → 3D CAD → Render → Manufacturing File
For selected designs, we would require:
* Detailed design development
* 3D CAD modelling
* High-quality product renders
* Production/manufacturing-ready files
* Appropriate dimensions/specifications
* Reasonable design revisions
8. Designer We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who has both:
Creative design ability + strong jewellery CAD expertise.
The ideal designer understands:
* Jewellery proportions
* Wearability
* Manufacturing limitations
* Stone setting
* Materials
* Contemporary fashion
* Jewellery trends
* Indian heritage aesthetics
A strong creative portfolio is more important than simply having technical CAD skills.
9. Portfolio Requirement
Please share examples of:
* Original jewellery designs
* Contemporary jewellery
* Indian-inspired jewellery
* Fashion jewellery
* Statement pieces
* CAD models
* 3D renders
* Manufacturing-ready jewellery designs
Please clearly identify which designs are your original work.
10. Please Include in Your Proposal
1. Your jewellery design experience
2. CAD software you use
3. Portfolio/previous work
4. Price per design
5. Price for an 8–12 design collection
6. Estimated turnaround time
7. Number of revisions included
8. Whether you provide STL/3DM or other production files
9. Whether you have worked directly with jewellery manufacturers
10. Whether you are available for future collections
11. Long-Term Opportunity
This is an initial collection development project.
If the collaboration works well, there is potential for ongoing freelance work across future jewellery collections, including seasonal, everyday and statement collections.
We are looking for a designer who can grow with the brand and help establish a distinctive contemporary heritage design language.
