Hello, Here is a rough draft of the clip design. The attached .zip file shows the inside mechanism. Please note that this is a rough draft and if you think the design is worth improving I will go ahead and do that for you. Thanks, Jake

I updated the housing and added the clip that will attach to the phone. The internal mechanism is the same for now. Let me know what you think and I will change whatever you want me to.

Hey Bill, I added spring to keep thinks from falling off of the hooks and I added a way for the phone to attach to the housing. The attachment of the disc to the back of the phone is heavy duty velco. Let me know what you think and if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Jake

#4 Clip in progress by Wyatt
I really wanted to find something different for the front connector but i found out the suction cup and clip were the widest used. I'll be using a suction cup of 1.75" which requires approximately 600N of force to remove which is hundreds of times higher than the dropping force from the phone.
I can change the side clips a bit too if desired, i am going to be adding springs for the clips to hold things on the clips.
Let me know what you think.

#12 Cell phone holder with lock by Wyatt
I have attempted to include all requirements for this model. This design was generated with assembly in mind.
The cell phone is attached to the tether via the reinforced suction cup to ensure proper grip, most cell phones have a smooth enough outer surface for the suction cup.
The suction cup is backed with a plug that attaches to a small cylinder piece, as can be seen in the bottom right photograph.
The small cylinder piece slides into the top of the main hook slot (a ball detent could be added to clip/lock the cylinder piece when fully inserted if needed but the weight of the phone should suffice to hold the pieces together).
The tether is attached to the cylinder by a simple loop of strong string or very thin rope and then clamped where the string/rope meets itself, this will allow free range of motion of the device.
The other end of the tether is attached to an internal spool which is held in tension by a spiral spring.
I have also included a sliding lock mechanism at the bottom for this model to hold the tether in place where ever desired.

#14 Spider Clip NO Drop Cellphone Holder by KenCad
Note: May add a flat thin rounded magnet inside casing facing the front hook to provide double security for the cellphone suction cup not to fall down easily even being shaked. Suction cup bracket attached to the casing hook made with metal material to attract the magnet.
Also added sliding button on top for stopping chord used with meter tape to hold into position the chord in whatever extent of length you wish.
A bolted metal clip in back casing where you attach in your belt for easy replacement or tightening.
A rubberized integrated side casing protection also purposes for easy grip and impact protection.

Spider shape is not necceary. Actualy I don't want the casing to be in the shape of a spider.
I want the casing to be round like the uploaded pics.
I want the tether to be able to lock and unlock at any length of any extention.

Also, the attachment of the "disk" at the end of the tether to the phone has to be sleek, strong and can easy to attach and detach a lot.

See picture 5 and 6.

based on all uploaded photos, I think that you have selected a particular tether to your design
the most important part is the tether housing, it will hold the tether (and other components) and make it more appealing for customer by showing the spider shape

So i may formulate the most accurate answer to your question, Please tell me in your words, based on all the info I have uploaded, what is the purpose of the casing? Please be as clear as possible.
Thank you,
Bill

what we actually need here is a housing/ casing to hold the existing badge holder,
is it true?
because it's the cheapest way to make your design

Dear Vikas,
My suggestion would be to get check out or buy a badge holder, they can be bought at any office supply store and use that design to begin with. You may be able to integrate the design of the tape measure locking system along with the badge holder design.
Another possibility is is a spring loaded clasp of some kind that can be slip up or down the tether cord and locked at any desired spot of the tether.
Does that help you?

Dear sir, " don't want to reinvent the wheel.", is their meaning of wheel=badge reel, if yes then how should we design Tether lock . I am already started this project in 3d modelling, only badge reel remaining.
Thanking you

Design a gas powered compact weapon
This gadget is for arm to arm combat, for military use. It is a Carbon Dioxide powered punching tool that will dispense its gas load into the recipient of the punch. James Bond would have one of these discreetly hidden for any unexpected fight :) The 25 gram CO2 gas canister is housed in a metal sleeve that is held in the palm of the hand, there is a hollow blade that protrudes out between the middle fingers that dispenses the gas. The finish can be stainless steel, aluminum, cold steel, anything that looks good. The arrow head is interchangeable. The canister is pierced by a hollow pin on the top of the inside vessel. If this could be 3D printed that would be great.
Electric Tricycle
I have an electric tricycle that is designed to transport cargo but I want to redesign this product and make it more appealing to clients who wants to replace the expensive golf car with this new product. In summary I want to transform the cargo product to passenger product and make it more sexy and appealing to personal use. The new product must have a roof top to provide shade for the driver and passengers
Simple Re-design of Front Cover Housing
We are looking to redesign the front cover only of our housing. The cover should keep the same dimensions so it still snaps into and works with the back housing. The back housing will be an industrial white. The front housing will be clear. See the sketch concept (MRX design version 2 - Setra file) file to see what we are moving to. We want to move away from the curved look of the front cover in favor of a flat face with a bezel (see the BAPI product for inspiration). The sticker label will have a rectangle cutout where a new, larger backlit display will be featured. The sticker will have a slight industrial texture to it. Please note we are considering adding a blue LED inside the housing to illuminate the clear edges of the front cover housing. Please try to mockup up the product with and without a blue light glow. Please also have a backlight effect on the display. All entries should be on a white or transparent background. Attached are current CAD files. Note the front cover will now have a flat face, the back housing will not change except for the color which will be safety/industrial white. Also attached are images of our current product (the MRX) and competitor products. We like the BAPI design the best. One final note, we also wanted to change the locking hinge to have more of a rounded shape instead of the squared shape. We also want to add a small hole in the latch (and a new hole in the back housing) for a small cotter key type lock or set screw. Thanks and I am happy to provide clarification.
cartridge belt
Greenearth's cartridge belt contains 13 rubber squeeze bulbs containing 2.3 ml of fluids. The belt measures 4 cm wide and 1.5 cm high. The length is determined in the final stages. The materials requirements are for retractable rubber silicon for the mounted squeeze bulbs & clear in color. The belt is the base and must be of thicker silicon it is shaped with cones to stabilize the bulbs as they rotate round plus a retrieval tag at each end of belt. Drawing will follow, 20days
Structure Rendering 1000
Hello and thank you for viewing our project, We need a scaled, hi resolution, photo realistic renderings of our three structures which are different sizes. We need a working model which will allow each component to be manipulated for color, material or surface printing. Each structure and components will be $300 for first place. There will be 3 projects total.
