Description:
We are a small start up business focusing on bringing the outdoors inside for indoor cats. Indoor cats like to climb and feel safe when selecting a preferred level to perch at. Indoor cats like their outdoor cousins, need exercise, plants (especially grass) and access to view out of windows to keep them stimulated. If the cats requirements aren't enough of a challenge then the winning design must fit seamlessly with the ultra modern home interior. We invite you to submit your designs based upon shelves fitted to the ikea stolmen post, a floating shelf design or your own unique concept. Your design may be cat centric or multi purpose for both cat and pet parent.
Wants:
You will need to submit both .dwg files and .pdf files.Preference will be given to designs that can be sized for small medium and large options.
Designs will be fabricated from mdf Cnc machine cutting so please maximise cut from sheet and minimise waste.
Consideration will be given to designs to be fabricated from hardwood
For cat safety all fixings must be interior with no viewable screws, dowels etc
Design must incorporate fitting options for toys, plants which can be purchased as optional extras without detracting from the design if these options are not purchased.
All designs must incorporate bed/perch area and scratching section
For stolmen post designs:
Footprint must be no bigger than 60x60 inches, dictated by shelf size (guide, largest shelf should be no bigger than 26"x13")
Shelves must have 3mm cut out on topside of shelf to 1 inch of edge for sure step matting.
Perching shelf (largest) should be 26" x 13"
Maximum step distance from one step to next is 20"
Other than above designs are limited only by your creativity.

Montgomery Wonderpaws (yes that's his name, aka company cat) is a hardened product tester.Likes: luxury, ultra modern, fashionable, trendy products
Dislikes: the plethora of cheap, uninspired, sisal based, cat furniture and toys. He believes he deserves better! He believes you can design it.

Hopefully this will also help clarify what is required for the product you will develop to create your own unique product. WE DO NOT WANT THESE PRODUCTS CREATED AS THESE ARE COPYRIGHTED. They are to be used as examples only to help you understand what we are looking for/ do not want.

We have finally chosen our winning and second place prize winners for our Modern and Innovative Cat Tower competition. First of all we would like to thank everyone that submitted a design and it was great to meet a some indoor cat owners out there too. Picking the winners was very hard as all the designers merited recognition for incorporating in their own way the mental and physical well being of indoor cats into their designs. In the end we chose the designs that met the brief the closest in terms of requirements and best match for the business with an ultra modern design concept. Congratulations to Raluca Harper for her winning designs and we look forward to prototyping them over the coming months.
I am sure we will be back to Cad Crowd in the near future with more design competitions (we have new product ideas all the time) when we will hope to work with you all again.

Hi Jayker, Thanks for asking and good question! I have been waiting on some last minute file submissions as I have not been able to see all of the designs due to not having appropriate software to view all file types. I hope this gives all entrants a full review before deciding the winner and second place design prize. I hope to have this concluded over the next couple of days.

Hi Peter, yes just one pole to be used and everything is attached to the one pole by the fixings (as described in the details for the stolmen pole. The pole can be adjusted in height to fit floor to ceiling for most rooms. please remember if you are designing for the stolmen pole the shelves need to have a cut out on top of the shelves of 3mm to 1inch of the edge of the shelf so that the sure step matting can be fixed flush to the top of each shelf. So i understand that the tower is based on the stolmen pole,
I am now re-doing the design i was initially planning to submit, and new ideas are forming now.
I just need one more info. Only one stolmen pole is to be used in the design, Right ? End everything else is fixed on the pole ?

Hi the maximum height limit for the design is 6ft but this should be for the largest size of cat tower - not all designs will need to be this tall. The stolmen pole can go from 210cm minimum to 330cm maximum in height but for this type of cat tower you will only need to design the shelves.

Thank you Rhizky Ariyansyah for your comment. We would like you to come up with your own design either based around shelves fitted to the Ikea Stolmen Post using its attachments (exact details including measurements of post and fittings can be found on the Ikea website) or your own unique concept. In short we want you to design the product. this is a design competition and wasn't aware you would want sketches. Please do get in touch if you need anything further

Firearms storage case
Hi,
I need a 2D and 3D CAD design for a firearms storage case made out of a soft fabric such as canvas or ballistic nylon.
My intention is to have something (drawing/rendering with dimensions) available to show a manufacturer so they understand what I want.
I've attached a drawing of the case and it's dimensions. I'd like it to be padded (similar to a typical laptop case). It needs to have pouches on the outside for storage of pistol magazines, ammunition, etc.
It also needs to have a shoulder strap and carry handles.
The lid needs to be opened from the front of the case and "hinged" at the back.
On the inside, the case should have some compartments divided by padded dividers (like a typical laptop case).
I've attached some pictures of typical range bags that show examples of what I'd like.
If it can have a military/law enforcement look to it it'd be great.
The pouches can be Velcro or zippered closures.
A dark gray color would be great for the case.
Those are the basic requirements. I'll leave the rest of the design up to you. If you have any ideas to enhance it I'd appreciate it.

Whiskey Globes
I’m looking for CAD designs of a spherical ice cube mold that depicts the world map. The mold will be produced using food grade silicone as they’ll be marketed as whiskey ice balls. The ice globes should be embossed with a world map and measure 2.5 inches in diameter including the embossment. The embossment should be raised enough so that the earth will not immediately melt away in a drink.
