@Meshtech, You have put a lot of money on the line. I know its hard to give feedback to each and every entry, but little feedback would have been encouraging. It would be interesting to see how you evaluate the designs. If its based on detailing the product, i would be really disappointed. Because i dont find it productive to detail the inner mountings without the exact configuration and orientation of the pcbs. In my opinion the scope of the project was only upto developing outer form and designing the brackets.
Dear ALL Designers, thank you for your patient. It has been a huge work to evaluate all the design entries and we are now down to top 5 entries. We will nominate the winners tomorrow 5th July.
Dear ALL Designers, the contest is now closed and we will review all design entries the comming weeks to nominate the 1st and 2nd place winners. Please be patient.
@arkiattack,
Why you think that it is not ethical if the contest holder rates the entries? I think it is better to rate them from the beginning. It is more ethical to told to someone to stop with what he is trying to do, if you don't like it, and not to leave him to continue working without any sense. And vice versa - if you think you like someones work (even if it is temporary) - tell him to continue. I see nothing wrong...
Wish you health and luck :)
@supra77; details of antennas is not yet decided. I may be an component added to the PCB, but is very smal in size. And will not affect your design entries.
Hello Buyer,
I am going to design the small enclosure. To clarify, it needs to fit 2 AA battries, SMARC module (85mmX85mm), powerPCB+RJ45 (40mmX60mm) and Antenna PCB (70mm Dia) . Then Lid and Base plus a mount for ceiling mount. Is this accurate? Am I missing anything.
@Thommy; Thank you for your feedback. Yes this is more a prototyping but the the design will at the end be for injection moulding. The components on PCB can varies i size/heights. PCB is not designed yet and area with the heighest component is unknown. Any how...it it the batteries and SMARC module that is the largest components. Break down is not an option.
Dear Buyer,
This is A contest which really needs expertise. I have read the requirements, so I can say, the prize you offer for the 1st place is quiet high, but it's simply cannot be compared to the work it needs. I tell you why.
You need 4 different designs, "*Designed for injection molding", but the serial quantity (according to the comment) is between 500 and 1000, so it is far closer to "prototyping" than injection molding.
The "Thichness of PCB with components can varies from 3-10mm": what does that mean? In which areas it varies?
I hope you understand what I mean.
The reason I write all of this is I would like to ask you to break this contest down in four pieces, and give more dimensions and details about your products. So at the end you can get something you really need.
Yes, it would cost you more.
@fvollbrecht; the first concept is shown in the design specification. Next step is to see how you and the designers will take the design to the next level. (not manufacturing ready, but "concept fase 2"). Start with one assembly.
