Secret Electrical BoxBlind

Contest Ended, Winner(s) have been selected.
Description:
Hi all,

We are looking for a 3D design of electrical box, There is a plug on the box to connect EV charger cable( the side with the holes example 1) and the other side should be able to connect to the electricity plug on the wall.

There are 2 LED lights on it, one for one/off 1 for active. There is one button on the box that is called override.

We would first choose the best design and then change the colour and logo to match our preferences. The box size should not be bigger than 15x20 cm.

#14 model 2 by Jacob Jose
This is my second entry .In this design i have gone for a much premium design with a glossy hard plastic top which can be attached to the top shell. Then there is a stylish led set and back lit button.Snap and groove is provided on the split body like the previous design.Unlike the rubber casing an in built plastic wire end protection is used here. And all these components can be easily manufactured using plastic injection moulding. Overall its a much sleek and pleasing design. Hope your team likes this one.

#2 Flash Electric Box by Lukman MesinITS
Here I design you a super elegant electric box. I have tried our best by designing this product based on every hint and goal you gave, included EV charger holes and indicator lamp. There are two holes provided for two-way-charging. I gave you an innovation by providing a place to roll the cable EV around the electric box. Hopefully you will love this design and feel free to submit any revision or request as your feedback.
Best Regards,
Lukman, Indonesia

#4 box v1 by Jacob Jose
hi,
This is my 1st design for your secret electrical box. This a simple yet elegant design which can be easily manufactured using injection moulding. The curved top portion can be attached to the bottom portion using normal screws on either side and snap fits are also provides for the perfect fit.A rubberized protection at both ends ensures that the power cables and charging cables remain intact even after many twists and turns. As per my calculation u can easily wind a 3m long ev charger wire around this box along the gap provided between the top and bottom portion. EV charger boxes are supposed to undergo a tough use during its life time, so to ensure maximum life of the product i went for this sturdy design. For the exploded views and different color schemes please refer the above attachments. I've only attached the jpg files of the renders..More STEP and 3d files will be submitted on request.I'll make necessary changes as you request.Hope you like it.

#12 EV Charging Box by Kenan Kalamujic
Simple and easy to make charging box, has two features in the design. First being the switches for ON OFF Active and Override. When the user turns ON the charging box, green light will light up and also the Active if in use. When not in use red light is on. Also the override button allow for less space to be used on top and allow user with a simple click anywhere on the override switch to override it. This design has another advantage to it. The bottom part when taken off present two things. First being that the cords can be safely stored inside the box. Second that it protects from water or any other danger. With just push on the side the clamps release the lid and the cords are out for you to use.

#17 EV Charger with Overide by JDMac174
Hi everybody! Here is my design. I thought I would submit something a little different than the other approaches, so I added a folding handle system onto the unit for carrying. The electronics in the box would need to be added before it is a completed design. Thank you and have a great week!

Hi, There have been few changes to this product and we need to change some parts, this needs to be discussed with all team involved and get confirmation from management so it can take a month or two, we will then review this with the team and they will choose the winner and also will ask for some changes (that will be paid separately of course).

Hi all, Thanks for all the designs, please do not submit any more design, because we need to choose a few short listed ones, and continue from there, that might take a while as we need management meeting for that.

@sherifelsheikh : The cable length and plug size are the normal EV charging cables and plugs(any type is fine)

@DRadu : the cable and the box are connected and that is the product

@Jacob Jose I can say all the component together would be at around 15x15x10 cm

@ASC : Yes because we need to add this box to the cable to change the rate of charging. You can think of any design as long as this box is fitted with the EV charging cable. We don't want this box to be fixed to the wall and we want it to be one product (cable and the box) because people need to take it with them any where they go

It will be really helpful If you can specify the space you need for the electrical components inside the box.
Fri, 25 Aug 2017 23:36:55 +0000
Hi, I understand that the maximum size is 15 x 20 cm, but what is the minimum size, base on your electric components?
Fri, 25 Aug 2017 22:11:51 +0000
What is the approximate cable length?
do u have plugs dimensions?

Hi ASC, Yes your description is true. The problem is that we want the box to be part of the cable so the owner can take it every where with them. That's why it cannot be fixed to the wall. And the cable doesn't need to be retractable, as this is a very small box. It depends on you how to solve this but one example is this design https://i.pinimg.com/736x/32/8e/30/328e30cc9eaa9ef9eae12f85e994daa3--popular-series-electric-vehicle.jpg

I do not understand the new project description. It's a box with cables coming out of both sides? Male on one side and female on the other? Is this retractable? Why even have the box in the middle? Please clarify your description.

Hi All, Unfortunately I cannot edit the project description, the final decision is that we want to replace the charging cable, so we need an EV charging cable with this secret box in the middle. so there will be no plugs on the box, and instead there will be the cables from both side.

The prize is $300 for first winner.

Hello,

About the box, will be a part of a product or will be a product itself?

Design an Extraordinary Cabinet Knob or Pull
I own Knobs.co, a retail cabinet hardware site. I want to manufacture a line of unique, 3D printed cabinet hardware. This contest is for the design for one cabinet knob or pull. However, should I find a designer whose work I like, there could be far more work following. The final knobs will be produced in metal. They will need to be strong enough for daily use, stunning to look at, and capable of being screwed into a cabinet, which means they should have a threaded screw hole capable of receiving an 8-32 screw. The knob diameter can be anywhere between 1 1/4 inches and 1 1/2 inches. Also, the final piece needs to be capable of being submitted directly to Shapeways, and conform to all of their criteria for strength, wall thickness, etc. I'm not a techie, so if I have to modify anything to upload it, the knob is never going to get made.
