I thought I sent a comment on this before, but I can't find it...

This is an interesting character. Without his props, I like him.
But I don't think the trident and medallion necklace are fitting with what we're looking for.

Consider:
-no band around the bottom of that hat. The band makes it look like a santa hat.
-No trident. Perhaps a garden tool instead?
-No necklace. Perhaps a beard or mustache instead?

I do like how the probe connections and LCD are integrated though!

Thanks for your submission!

I like the detail of this guy's face. But overall, I'm not really getting a gnome--more of a medieval warrior or viking. I like his beard. :)

Is there a way to make him a bit younger? And perhaps go for more of a gnome-style hat? Perhaps his feet could be shorter, perhaps boots?

This is an interesting character, but not really fitting with what we're looking for. He doesn't remind me of a gnome. Here's a couple ideas:
-The back plate wouldn't allow cords to connect to the jacks
-The teeth seem scary, not fun-loving, or wise, or modern
-the extra long, droopy hat isn't fitting with a gnome

This rendering is a bit hard to see. But from what I can make out, I think I can like the top/face, but from the middle of the body down I seem to loose the feel of the gnome. Perhaps a belt in the middle, or boots at the bottom might help?

But even if we get some more gnome features, I'm not quite getting the modern tech/robo element coming through.

There was a question early about the age of the gnome.
At that time I wasn't sure I had an answer, but I think after looking through the designs, we've been drawn more to the younger/modern designs more than the old-man designs.

Hopefully this helps give you some direction. Thank you, designers!

I like the minimal design of this. I'm not sure what to make of the front though. Am I seeing an exaggerated beard (which could be fun), or an egg-like body?

To me, this seems a little like a santa, and a little less like a modern gnome or robo unit.

#12 Thanks for the consideration you put into the locations for the pcb and probe connections.

I think the gnome itself could use some further development though. Consider some of the key gnome features--boots, maybe a belt, a pointy hat, a beard... Any of those might help it be a little more like a gnome.

Thanks for this design. Where would you imagine the LCD being located? And where would the probes plug in?

I'm liking this guy. He seems fun and modern.

I think I see where you have spots for the LCD and probe connections--on the back of his head for the LCD, and the back of his body for the probes, is that right?

I like the whimsical look to him, but his eyes are a little to lopsided for me. Could they be evened up a little please?

I definitely think the hat helps him be a little more gnomy. Perhaps could he be holding a small shovel in his lower hand? Or something garden related...a plant?

One other thought---what do you think about him having some sort of beard to remind viewers a bit more of a gome? I know we're trying to blend a robot/gnome which is a bit of an odd mix. I like how you've started more on the robot side. Now we just need to have a couple key gnome features (like the hat you added) to hint at the gnome, without fully turning him back into a gnome.

Thank you for your work on this project and submissions!

Consider changing the claw feet to boots? I'm fine with no face, but perhaps the hat should come a little lower as if hiding the whole head/face.

Hi @MR. CAD DESIGNS

The gnome should be 10" tall.

Hi Gardener , you have provided dimensions for inside cavity (4"x2"x7") for internal components. But , is there any size limitation for the outer body of gnomebot?

thanks

Good questions, @Matthew So.

The probes are 3.5mm audio jacks (four) and bnc jacks (three).

The LCD will be mounted from the inside with the screen visible from the outside.

Does that help?

How large are each of the probe plugs? To fit 5-8 probe plugs in the gnome, how large should that hole be?
For the 16x2 LCD, should a housing be included as well? Or just an area for you guys to put the LCD on later?

The 4" x 2" x 7" component inside: are those dimensions in length x height x width, or something else?
