Description:
This is about a first product draft, which shall later be turned into a production ready design.

I need an enclosure for a custom made electronic part. The rough form-factor should be similar to a navigation system (see attached files) with a display in front and parallel enclosure boundaries, slightly rounded edges.
The display is 4.3 inches wide (see technical details attached) and should be included in the rendering. The enclosure should be 4 cm deep.
As a bonus, the display shows attached bar diagram.

At the back, there should be the possibility for a DIN rail mount, top hat rail EN 50022 – 35 × 7.5
but also for direct wall mount using screws or mounting to a bar with cable ties.

At the front left side of the enclosure, I need a C14 inlet to add a power cable and a Schuko socket: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schuko or CEE 7/3 socket. See attached figure of the design.

The material should be dark grey with a bit reflective surface. Please add our logo to the upper left corner of the front, below the display. If it fits optically, it could glow a bit in green.
Wants:
I will rate the quality of the work/experience of the designer and the optical appearance. If I am happy, there will be a second competition about the technical details, and finally the enclosure will be produced in a sample.

The designer should have experience in designing consumer products and especially produce a solid mechanical fitting to the DIN rail. I will especially look at this feature.
It would be bonus to model the DIN rail as well for illustration.
Don't Wants:
Fancy design ideas are not needed. The product should look solid and handy.

Yes...Congrats to winner for a very good looking design! I do however agree with the below comment. It only met the Din requirement and yet won...very confusing.

Yes, I am sorry for this. The winning design is not the best from the DIN rail fitting, but it is good enough and compensates this with other convincing strengths.

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. The texture is carbon fibre, the most cost effective way to reproduce it is a vinyl wrap which is a cheap and durable coating. It could also be done with a process called hydrodipping.

Thank you for this nice design!
How do you produce this texture? Can it be made by standard techniques?

,I know how the mount works on a DIN rail, I almost used it, but my question is how do you screw yours into the wall when a DIN rail is not being used?

Hi Mr sldraftingdesign
it's simple
Put the metal spring in their position and After that
Push against the metal spring upwards to mount the control box

Almost haft-time with the contest, and there are some awesome models here already...
I am quite happy and as Aminegn suggested, I added another 100 $ for the second & third place to the contest to honor that.

If I can have a wish for that, it would be from the 5 nominated designs to be a touch more interesting/some more nuances added to the designs. The logo can basically be everywhere and some of the designs could be a bit less bulky.

I almost used that same DIN rail mount, however, how do you mount it to the wall?

Hi Mr Christoph;
thank you for your comment.
Answer to question 1 :Yes it is necessary, but one can modify the design with the add a form that fit on the support.
Answer to question 2 : This is the easiest solution, just you can push up against the metal spring to release the Control-box

Hi, Christoph,

Thank you for your comments. I appreciate it.

Btw, I have made some good renderings on same design. I can send them if you are interested ( & designs).

I like this one. Especially the mounting to the DIN rail. I have two questions:
- is it a custom made metal part that is needed for the mounting, I mean the spring-like part in grey?
- is it intended that one can take the box on and off without any tools, by pushing it upwards against the metal spring?

Thank you

Please don't take it as an insult. I take it as a compliment when people copy aspects of my design. Thanks

# 8...copy it...lol. Its the only way to mount it without opening the unit or having a built in track on the unit that can still snap in from the front without sliding from the side
