Cad Crowd Crowdsourcing: 5 Design Contests on Now

Cad Crowd is all about the crowdsourcing! Our crowdsourced design challenges are a big part of what we do here, and we’ve always got a diverse assortment of contests going on with a variety of subjects, participants, and (of course!) prizes. Let’s take a look at some of the contests currently underway and some of the great designs that have been submitted.

1. Razor and Shaving Brush Holder 3D Modeling Design by kabbo

Some of us are lucky enough to have the opportunity to grow hair out of our faces, which we usually deign to remove at least partially. Of course, the style in which we do this is very important, and that includes the tools we use. This design challenge here is to create a classy and elegant stand to hold one’s razor and shaving brush. Tickle your whiskers!

2. Mechanical iPhone 5s Case Product Design by Adam

This isn’t exactly your everyday iPhone case, but I suppose that’s what makes it a challenge. This case is designed with a track for some kind of screen that can be moved toward and away from the phone. Who knows why! Check out the contest page to see other entries.

3. Beach House Remodeling Architectural Design by ecoco

This design contest is to convert an existing beach home which was designed for more vacational purposes in mind to a primary residence. The goal is to redesign the space to allow for larger bedrooms, more storage space, and an office. A hallmark of a great designer is the ability to produce good designs under tight constraints.

4. Base/Rail/Connector Product Design by Matthew Naj.

The golden rule of design contests is that the better the prize, the better the participation. Well, the prize must be right for this contest, because so far it has received a vigorous 61 entries. The goal here is to design a rail system for the buyer’s electronic device design. Production ready and rock steady are the rules of the game.

5. 1200 sqft Apartment Drafting Architectural Design by isira

The project on this one is to design a cozy 1200 square foot apartment meant to go over a barn for a pair of caretakers. Looking for something light, airy, and open. This contest has attracted a goodly number of entries, too. It’s pretty fun seeing all the different approaches designers have for laying out the space. Take a look at the contest page and take a look.

All these contests and more are going on right now! If you’re a designer, get in there! Earn yourself some extra bread and boost your ranking on Cad Crowd.

If, on the other hand, you need some design work done, well you’ve come to the right place! Hosting your own design contest is easy. You set the prize amount and you select the winners. Find out more!
