Verified 2D Cantilever FEA - Mesh, Equilibrium and Stress Checks

Self-initiated, AI-assisted numerical verification demonstration. I prepared a reproducible 2D plane-stress cantilever model using Python, scikit-fem and SciPy, with Q2 quadrilateral elements. The package includes four mesh levels, an independent affine patch test on distorted elements, force/moment equilibrium, beam-deflection comparisons, and remote-section stress checks. The finest model gives 0.383216 mm mean tip displacement; the last mesh change is 0.02052%. The difference from a Timoshenko beam approximation is 0.1843%, not an exact continuum error. Deliverables include a three-page report, runnable source, raw CSV results and verification criteria. Idealized linear elasticity only; no client work, physical validation, yield/fatigue assessment or certification is claimed. An accompanying STEP solid defines the 200 x 20 x 5 mm plate; the numerical analysis remains 2D plane stress.
