Ship 3D Reconstruction from Technical Drawings & Reference Images – SolidWorks

3D reconstruction of a ship in SolidWorks using a combination of original naval drawings and photographic reference images. The available technical drawings provided the main dimensions and geometric references, while photographs were used to interpret and reconstruct details, shapes, and features that were not completely defined in the original documentation. The project required correlating information from multiple 2D views and visual references to build a coherent and accurate 3D CAD model. The final model was developed for the production of a physical scale model. The work included: • Interpretation of technical and naval drawings • Reconstruction from photographs and reference images • 2D-to-3D CAD conversion • Complex geometry reconstruction • SolidWorks 3D modeling • Dimensional correlation between multiple sources • Preparation of the final geometry for physical model manufacturing This project demonstrates my ability to reconstruct complex physical objects from incomplete technical documentation by combining drawings, dimensions, photographs, and visual references into a complete manufacturable 3D CAD model.
