Quick Die Change Unit for Industrial Press Automation

This project involved the design and development of a Quick Die Change (QDC) Unit engineered to reduce tooling changeover time in industrial stamping and manufacturing operations. The system was designed to improve production efficiency, minimize machine downtime, and enhance operator safety by enabling fast, accurate, and repeatable die replacement. The assembly was developed in SolidWorks using a fully parametric design approach, allowing flexibility for different press sizes and die configurations. The design integrates precision guide rails, hydraulic/pneumatic clamping mechanisms, die transfer components, and a reinforced structural base to ensure smooth die movement and secure positioning during operation. Particular attention was given to load distribution, structural rigidity, component accessibility, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Interference analysis and assembly verification were performed to ensure reliable operation and simplified maintenance in high-volume production environments.
