Quadcopter Design & Hover Performance Analysis

Developed a complete quadcopter CAD model, including the central chassis, structural arms, landing gear, and 2-blade propellers. Steady-State MRF Simulation was conducted by making a non‑conformal domain was built with four cylindrical MRF zones to capture rotor rotation within a stationary atmosphere. Simulated Hover Phase of Drone at 4000 RPM was simulated with counter‑rotating propellers in ANSYS FLuent. Key aerodynamic metrics such as thrust, torque, and drag were extracted alongside pressure contours on propeller tips and hubs. The workflow directly supports UAV sizing, propeller optimization, and payload assessments, ensuring aerodynamic soundness before prototyping.
