Portable Gantry Crane – 2 Ton SWL | Structurally Designed for 2.5 Ton Capacity Designed and developed a 2 Ton Safe Working Load (SWL) portable gantry crane, covering the complete engineering workflow from structural design calculations to detailed CAD modelling and validation. The project included beam and structural member selection, load and stress analysis, 3D assembly modelling, fabrication drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation. The design was structurally evaluated using FEA, including von Mises stress assessment and comparison with the material yield strength to support the design validation. The project demonstrates practical capabilities in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, CAD Design, structural thinking, and design-for-fabrication. During fabrication, selected design details were adapted to address practical manufacturing and assembly requirements while maintaining the intended structural and functional objectives.
