Monitor Stand
### Overview
This project showcases a modern, minimalist Extendable Monitor Riser designed with a hybrid material approach, combining 3D-printed components and natural wooden dowels. The design focuses on high functionality, desktop space optimization, and structural integrity, while keeping manufacturing/production barriers low for desktop 3D printing or small-scale manufacturing.
### Design & Mechanical Features
* Extendable Linkage System: Utilizes a smooth sliding mechanism via parallel wooden rods, allowing users to adjust the width dynamically to fit various desk setups or dual-monitor configurations.
* Integrated Storage Module: The left pedestal features a modular 3D-printed housing with an open slot and a functional pull-out drawer for efficient desktop organization.
* Ergonomic Functionality: Elevates the monitor to an optimal eye-level height, reducing neck strain while maximizing usable desk real estate underneath the rod bridge.
* Flexible Accent Piece: Incorporates a curved, flexible 3D-printed tab on the right side (optimized for flexible filaments like TPU/PETG) acting as a document holder or cable router.
### Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & Assembly
* Material Optimization: Designed specifically to minimize support material during FDM 3D printing, reducing print time and post-processing.
* Press-Fit / Mechanical Joinery: The connections between the 3D-printed end-caps and the wooden dowels are engineered with precise tolerances for a secure press-fit or simple adhesive assembly.
* Standardized Parts: Uses standard-diameter off-the-shelf wooden rods to minimize custom machining costs and facilitate easy sourcing.
