Lifting beam for 27.2 t: design and FEA (Inventor, AxisVM)

Engineering consultancy project (BRAVNN, 2025). Lifting beam for loads up to 27.2 tonnes with four slings, built from four IPN 360 beams and seven lengths of 120 x 120 x 6.35 mm square tube. I modeled it in Inventor and ran a finite element analysis, with a closer look at the lifting lugs, checked it in AxisVM as well, drew the fabrication drawing (A1, two sheets) and wrote the calculation report. At 27,240 kg each sling works at 40.8 degrees from vertical and takes 88.3 kN; the beam weighs 2,389 kg and has a safety factor above 3.
