Improved Bearing Puller Design with Adjustable Claw Mechanism
# Project Overview
This project involved the development of an improved bearing puller design based on a previously modeled mechanical assembly. The main objective of the modification was to improve the retention and movement of the puller claws.
## Design Improvement
In the original design, the claws could potentially move out of their intended position. To address this issue, a mechanical improvement was implemented by adding a threaded adjustment mechanism connected to each claw and coupled to the central body of the assembly.
This system helps keep the claws properly retained while allowing their position to be adjusted in a controlled manner. By operating the threaded mechanism, the claws can be opened or closed, improving the functionality and control of the bearing puller.
## Design Process
- Analyzed the original bearing puller assembly and identified an opportunity for improvement.
- Modified the design to improve claw retention.
- Added threaded components to connect and guide the claws.
- Designed the mechanism to allow controlled opening and closing of the claws.
- Updated the complete SolidWorks assembly to verify the interaction between the modified components.
- Used CAD modeling and mechanical assembly techniques to develop the improved design.
