Custom Large-Format 3D Printer – Mechanical Design & Manufacturing
Custom large-format 3D printer designed and manufactured from concept to a fully functional machine.
The project involved the complete mechanical development of the printer, including CAD modeling, structural design, motion systems, component integration, assembly, and manufacturing.
The machine was designed with a 1500 × 1000 mm heated build platform and 500 mm Z-axis printing capacity.
The development process included:
• Parametric 3D CAD design and mechanical assemblies
• Structural frame and motion system design
• Custom mechanical components and mounting solutions
• Integration of motors, linear motion components and extrusion system
• Manufacturing and assembly of the complete machine
• Testing, mechanical adjustments and design improvements
• Design for maintenance and real-world operation
This project was not only a CAD concept: the machine was physically manufactured, assembled, tested and operated successfully.
The project demonstrates my experience in mechanical CAD, custom machine design, large-format 3D printing systems, prototyping, manufacturing and practical problem solving.
