Concealed Wall-Mounted Multi-Gym
Advanced mechanical engineering and kinematic design of a space-saving, heavy-duty fitness apparatus. The system features a complex folding architecture that transforms fully functional pull-up and muscle-up bars into a low-profile, customizable wall portrait when not in use.
Challenges & Solutions
Dynamic Load-Bearing Kinematics: Muscle-ups and pull-ups exert massive dynamic stress. The folding joints needed to withstand extreme human body weight without shearing or collapsing.
Solution: Engineered a robust, triangulated linkage system in SolidWorks. Utilized heavy-duty structural hinges and integrated mechanical locking struts to ensure absolute structural rigidity during workouts, while maintaining a smooth deployment and retraction cycle.
Aesthetic Camouflage & Space Optimization: Hiding bulky, aggressive gym hardware within a standard living space seamlessly.
Solution: Designed a highly condensed chassis that folds completely flat. The underside of the structural frame was engineered with a custom bezel and housing to hold interchangeable portrait artwork, completely masking the hardware and blending the unit into home decor when closed.
Manufacturing Readiness: Ensuring the complex assembly could be reliably fabricated.
Solution: Designed all components around standard stock metal profiles and laser-cut sheet metal tolerances to ensure cost-effective, scalable manuals
