Commercial Kitchen Module — Plywood & Metal Engineering
Engineering development of a durable modular kitchen for intensive commercial use, combining a moisture-resistant plywood structure with protective metal cladding.
The kitchen consists of four modules integrating storage, a sink with foldable faucet, refrigerator and cooktop. The structural base is made from 15 mm moisture-resistant plywood, with 1 mm metal cladding, a 2 mm metal countertop and a protective flip-up cover on gas lifts. Kitchen made of metal.pdf
A key engineering feature of the project is the tenon-and-mortise / tongue-and-groove assembly system. The modules were designed for precise positioning without on-site adjustments and can be assembled using only basic tools. After assembly, the plywood structure is clad with metal sheets. The hybrid construction combines the rigidity and manufacturability of plywood with the durability, moisture resistance and clean appearance of metal cladding, while reducing manufacturing and delivery costs compared with fully metal furniture. The solution was developed for commercial environments such as food courts, pop-up cafés, pavilions and mobile sales points.
