Catamaran mainsheet system

A custom mainsheet control system designed for a high-performance foiling catamaran. The system was developed as part of my Olympic Nacra 17 sailing campaign, where I use CAD and engineering analysis to design bespoke boat components. The design focuses on improving the routing and control of the mainsheet, which is used to adjust sail shape and manage high sailing loads. The model includes custom sheave/block geometry and attachment features designed around compact packaging, rope alignment, bearing fitment, and practical manufacture. This project involved 3D CAD modelling, iterative prototyping, load consideration, and design for manufacture. The system was developed with real-world use in mind, including strength, stiffness, low friction, corrosion resistance, and ease of assembly.
