Buffer Conveyor System for Harpic Bottle Filling and Packaging Line
This project involved the design and development of a buffer conveyor system for a Harpic liquid toilet cleaner production line. The system was engineered to provide temporary bottle accumulation between filling, capping, labeling, and case packing operations, ensuring continuous production while minimizing downtime caused by speed variations between machines.
The conveyor was designed in SolidWorks using a fully parametric modeling approach to integrate seamlessly with the existing packaging line. The system features a modular stainless steel frame, adjustable guide rails, low-friction conveyor chains, precision support structures, and drive components optimized for stable bottle handling and reliable product flow.
Particular attention was given to maintaining bottle orientation, preventing product congestion, and ensuring smooth transfer of lightweight plastic containers at high production speeds. The design also emphasizes ease of cleaning, maintenance accessibility, and long-term durability in a chemical manufacturing environment.
