Automatic Self-Locking Carton Tray Erector Machine for Packaging Automation
This project involved the design and development of an Automatic Self-Locking Carton Tray Erector Machine engineered to automate the forming of self-locking carton trays for high-speed packaging operations. The objective was to reduce manual labor, improve production throughput, and ensure consistent tray formation with high positioning accuracy and operational reliability.
The machine was designed entirely in SolidWorks using a parametric modeling approach, enabling efficient customization for various carton sizes and production requirements. The system integrates a heavy-duty welded frame, carton magazine, automated feeding mechanism, forming station, locking mechanism, pneumatic actuators, and conveyor interfaces into a compact and efficient production cell.
Special attention was given to machine ergonomics, structural rigidity, synchronization of moving components, and ease of maintenance. Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles were applied throughout the project to simplify fabrication, assembly, and long-term servicing while maximizing production efficiency.
