Mechanical Engineer Rheinmetall Denel Munition (RDM) · Full-time Mar 2026 – Present 5 mos Potchefstroom, NW, South Africa Serving as a Mechanical Engineer in the Plant Engineering Department, supporting
manufacturing facilities through the design, development, testing, and implementation of
production equipment and engineering solutions. Responsibilities include generating
complete engineering data packs, including 3D modelling in SolidWorks, manufacturing
drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support procurement, fabrication, assembly, and
project execution.
Collaborate closely with Supply Chain and international equipment suppliers to evaluate,
specify, and develop bought-out equipment, ensuring technical compliance and successful
integration into plant processes. Design work is strongly focused on Design for Manufacturing
(DfM), incorporating applicable engineering standards and ATEX-rated equipment
requirements where necessary.
Responsible for design validation and testing of selected equipment prior to implementation,
