In 2002, after high school, I went directly into trade school and earned my AutoCAD Certification. Little did I know that I would be in the AEC field for the next 12 years. I regularly spend 8+ hours a day, working on schools and other similar buildings, making large sums of money for other people, whilst barely making ends meat for all of my hard work. This is the reason I've decided to go freelance. Coordinating electrical systems in building has become my strong suite. Although I went into CAD classes with dreams of making video games and 3D models, I have not been able to find the right the right company or the right location. Alas, I have continued to build complex 3D models for BIM coordination. But, no more! I’m hoping that if you've found this website you have an idea, maybe a hand drawn sketch or two, or even some old drawings that you’d like to have converted to a digital format. For me, product design is not just about solving puzzles. It’s about connecting with people through the things we create and making a product that solves a problem in their lives. I love the process of bringing an idea or a product to the next level, whether I’m creating an industrial design to satisfy the market’s demands, a functional prototype to get people’s attention, or a mass-manufacturable model to bring down costs. In 2013 I bought my first 3D printer as a kit, and used it to start a small business called Mindforge Design. As part of Mindforge, I designed and sold Maryland-themed 3D printed items to the University of Maryland community. Eventually I built a printer of my own which evolved into Readybox, the fastest consumer 3D printer on the market at the time. Readybox had a successful Kickstarter campaign in late 2015, reaching and exceeding its funding goal in only 18 hours. Since graduating in 2017 with a BS in mechanical engineering I’ve been working as a mechanical engineer at Harbor Designs and Manufacturing, where I’ve designed mechanical systems and parts for a multitude of consumer products. I am a creative and self-motivated mechanical engineer who is passionate about design and particularly interested in design for manufacturing. In addition to a strong mechanical design foundation, I possess strong problem-solving and communication skills. I graduated from UPenn with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics in May 2020. While there, I gained tons of CAD, CAM, DFM, & DFA experience (engineers love acronyms, don't they). I have tons of manufacturing experience in addition to my design experience which means that I will save you time and money by creating a manufacturable design in the first place.
